Introductory 5-Day Yoga Course

I loved it. The Goa location is fantastic, practicing yoga in the open air protected by a mosquito net. What a treat. And the filtered water! The course is perfect for beginners or those who have already completed a TTC like myself. There’s so many details that can be missed and I feel like this course didn’t miss a beat.

I liked the daily three hours because I was able to feel the changes after one/two days. It was good & helpful for beginners like me. You can slowly get in contact with all the basics of Iyengar. I felt some changes in my body; feeling my muscles, stability and balance in my body.

The teacher was very nice and professional. I liked the location in the nature. It was a good experience to stay in one posture for a long time. I learned a lot and I enjoyed every relaxation. It was a new experience to have props/bolsters to hold a posture and go in deep relaxation. Throughout the week I noticed more relaxation and calmness- also a little bit of muscle pain. I really liked the course. I was very stiff and now I feel more open, more flexible. It gave me a good foundation to practice yoga safely at home. I noticed throughout the week that my body feels less stiff and I have better posture. I am sleeping better. Thank you.

During my two weeks here I feel that my posture, technique and flexibility as well as being able to focus have improved greatly. During my first trials I was not able to do handstand nor inverted bow- on the final day I could do several on my own. The introductory course was intense and challenging, but also rewarding. Teaching was clear and thorough and a clear technique was taught. Towards the end of the week it was much easier to get into the poses and to relax in them. My belly was much happier than it usually is. I really enjoyed the courses! Especially the second one because by then I had gotten more into it and was able to focus more. The teachers are amazing- harmonious and peaceful and really good at uncomplicating things- just do it!

The first level was a great experience that made me hungry for more. I appreciated the thorough attention to detail from the instructor and assistants- the corrections were very helpful. The introductory course was intense and informative. I received helpful constructive criticism that I never received in classes back at home. In the two weeks that I’ve been at the centre I’ve improved my posture, flexibility and concentration and although I have a ways to go in finding my inner calmness, HIYC has provided me a solid foundation in beginning & continuing my yoga journey. I felt more peaceful, relaxed and I felt the course helped me to relieve my UTI symptoms. I also noticed my digestion has been ore regulated. Ramona is a great instructor! Her way of words, cheery smile, constructive feedback & positive reinforcement made her top. I felt she had a deep knowledge of the practice while making it enjoyable for everyone. I have enjoyed my time at HIYC. I found some positions hard, but during my time here they became easier. I like the shoulder stands. I have only taken 3 Hatha Yoga lessons and this was all new to me. I found it very interesting and very precise. Throughout the week I definitely relaxed and my posture is much better. I think more about my breathing now too. Thank you for this opportunity.

It was very nice, that the teachers and assistants always checked on everybody individually. They were all very focused on everybody, so that I felt very comfortable. I felt my whole body and the muscles, like really activated. It’s really more than body work, for me it also worked on the emotional and mental level. It was a really inspiring experience smile
