21 April - 19 June 2019 at the Dharamkot Centre, Dharamsala
The 8-Week Teachers Nurturing Programme with Master Yoga Teacher Sharat Arora is a first of its kind opportunity for teacher trainees of the Sharat Arora Yoga Method to build upon the foundation of the Teachers Training course in the Himalaya Shanti Ashram and to gain the necessary practical hands-on experience of correcting and teaching the Asanas, so that they can go home and teach students of all abilities and with any kind of ailment. Trainees will be under the close observation and guidance of Master and Senior Teachers and will benefit from being part of a group of teachers working together, helping each other to overcome blockages on every level within a supportive team atmosphere.
It is an EXPERIENTIAL course, designed to help the Trainees immerse themselves in the corrections and teachings of the Sharat Arora Yoga Method, as well as to go deeply inside their own practice. The course is open to ALL teachers of the Sharat Arora Yoga Method whether newly qualified or for those who have completed their SAYM TTC in the past.
The Teachers Nurturing Programme includes observing and participating in the 4-Week Yoga Therapy Programme with Master Teacher Sharat Arora, who will conduct regular talks and Q&A sessions explaining the reasons for the prescription of Asanas & Pranayama used for the Therapy Patients. Yoga is a supreme path of Self-Healing and the Trainees will have a chance to understand how it works on the deeper levels of our being.
For the first 2 weeks, the beginner Trainees will be present in the Introductory 5-Day Yoga Courses as on-lookers after which they may be allowed to assist in both Introductory and the Continuing Students 5-Day Yoga Courses running weekly at the Dharamkot Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre.
The Trainees will practise, firstly amongst themselves and then on the students, common corrections and teaching instructions of all the Asanas in the 5-Day Course sequence, as well as being introduced to some of the subtler energetic mistakes and their corrections. Depending on the level of dedication as well as learning speed of the Trainees, when ready, they will start to correct students in the classes as well as teach some Asanas under supervision of Master or Senior Teachers. Correction classes will take place 3x weekly with the group and 1x weekly with the Master or Senior Teachers. 1 session per week will be assigned to the watching of inspirational videos.
Master Teacher’s insights will be shared with Participants twice a week on Self-Development as well as Teaching Skills. Direction for Self-Practice will be indicated as well as where the Trainee needs to work more. This is a perfect way to observe where one makes mistakes and is stuck on mental as well as energetic levels and understand how to overcome these with the support of their peers in a happy learning environment.
