Help a 40-year-old yoga centre reach the students who are already looking for it.
Marketing Executive
Part-Time · RemoteHimalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre, Dharamkot
About the Role
Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre (HIYC), Dharamkot, is looking for a Marketing Executive to help expand the centre's reach, attract new students, and create sustainable avenues for growth.
This is a part-time, work-from-home role on a retainer basis, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position based on performance and mutual interest.
The role goes beyond social media management. We're looking for someone who can think creatively about how the centre can reach new audiences, generate enquiries, build partnerships, improve its online presence, and convert interest into course registrations.
The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, comfortable taking ownership, and able to turn ideas into action with minimal supervision.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives to increase awareness, enquiries, and registrations for the centre's courses and activities.
- Identify new online and offline avenues for growth.
- Research relevant audiences, communities, platforms, and markets that HIYC can reach.
- Suggest and execute creative ways to publicise the centre, its teachers, courses, workshops, and retreats.
- Explore partnerships with wellness organisations, travel companies, hotels, hostels, cafés, local businesses, communities, creators, and other relevant networks.
- Identify opportunities for media coverage, podcasts, newsletters, publications, events, and collaborations.
- Research competitors, industry trends, new platforms, and emerging opportunities.
- Create and manage online advertising campaigns on relevant platforms.
- Generate leads through paid advertising, organic marketing, partnerships, listings, and other channels.
- Track enquiries and work towards converting leads into paying students/clients.
- Monitor campaign performance and make changes based on results.
- Explore email, WhatsApp, search, directories, and other digital channels for outreach and lead generation.
- List HIYC and its courses on relevant yoga, wellness, retreat, travel, and experience platforms, including platforms such as BookRetreats.
- Identify new platforms and directories that can increase the centre's visibility and reach.
- Maintain and regularly update listings, course information, photographs, descriptions, dates, and other relevant details.
- Explore ways to improve the centre's online discoverability through search engines and other channels.
- Manage and maintain the centre's CRM and lead database.
- Organise enquiries received through different marketing channels.
- Track prospective students through the enquiry, follow-up, and registration process.
- Follow up with leads through email, phone, WhatsApp, or other appropriate channels.
- Maintain records of previous participants and explore opportunities for repeat visits and referrals.
- Track where leads are coming from and identify which marketing activities are producing results.
- Coordinate marketing content for courses, workshops, retreats, events, and other activities.
- Write clear and engaging copy for advertisements, websites, listings, email, WhatsApp, brochures, and other communication.
- Suggest creative content and campaign ideas to communicate HIYC's work and philosophy.
- Coordinate with the teaching team to ensure that the centre's approach and offerings are represented accurately.
- Support the centre's social media presence as one part of the broader marketing function, rather than as the sole focus of the role.
- Explore opportunities to promote HIYC within Dharamkot, Dharamshala and the wider region.
- Build relationships with relevant local businesses, accommodation providers, travel networks, communities, and organisations.
- Explore the use of brochures, posters, flyers and other offline promotional material where appropriate.
- Identify relevant events, festivals, gatherings, and communities where HIYC can participate or promote its activities.
- Develop grassroots and community-based initiatives to introduce the centre to new audiences.

What We Value
We are looking for someone who doesn't simply wait for a marketing brief. We value initiative, curiosity, creativity, and the ability to identify an opportunity and pursue it.
The person in this role should continually be asking: Who else should know about HIYC? Where can we reach them? What can we do differently to get their attention? And how do we turn that interest into a meaningful relationship with the centre?
Compensation & Growth
This is initially a part-time, remote position on a monthly retainer basis, with a competitive retainer offered according to experience and capabilities.
Based on performance, contribution, and mutual interest, the role can develop into a full-time position with Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre.
